Starting in 2013, the Oubliettes began life as a duet with Eleanor Hawley (vocals and guitar) and James Kell (Keyboards, Guitar and Vocals) playing across the vibrant Berkshire (UK) music scene. Combining a number of self penned original songs mixed with the odd cover, the duet became a quartet in May 2014 when Ben Watkins (Drums) and James Shore (Bass) joined the band.
The band then released their debut EP "Apple Tree' in September 2014 and continued to grow a strong following with their energetic live performances.
In 2019, the band added the Saxophone skills of Jonathan Judge and in March 2019, they entered the studios to start work on their first full album 'Radio' (released on the 12th July 2019).
Providing a mix of original songs influenced by jazz, rock and folk roots, the band are available for bookings for any occasion and can be seen in a number of music venues across Berkshire and the South East of the UK - Check out the News & Gigs section for all the latest information.
